If Google’s CEO is vibe coding now, shouldn’t we all?
In the past couple of months I have been sandboxing hashtag#AI hashtag#agents for a couple of small projects.
Differently from Google’s CEO, though, I found myself checking the Google Cloud sandbox console often to make sure cost don’t run away because of a bug or something (there is no feature to cap spend – there should be)… but for now costs are under control! ๐
So …
๐ open source n8n as orchestrator, but installed on Mac, running off a local server, free, full control and as fast as the cloud-based one.
๐ geminiAPI on Google Cloud. [ Sadly the open source Ollama is just too slow on my Intel machine for what I needed ]
๐ BigQuery also running on Google Cloud used as relational database (an overkill perhaps but it’s neat)
๐ Serp.api on cloud to do high-volume batch web searches
๐ Google Sheet API to output data for final use
Amazing what one can do that would have taken months even 2 years ago …
No body has a crystal ball, but it’s perfectly possible managers, engineers and consultants – at all levels – will be knocking up / configuring agents for bespoke tasks / projects before too long. Is it becoming a superpower?
That said, don’t believe the YouTube videos and the WYSIWYG propaganda … lots of fiddling and Python code needed.
